Joo Hooi Cafe

Famous for its savory street food favorites, grab a seat and be sure to try a bit of everything including Hokkein Mee, Asam Laksa and of course, Char Kuey Teow.

Jelutong Night Market

After 7PM on Friday nights, the air on Jelutong Street is thick with the smell of fragrant spices from over100 stalls that make up this sprawling market. The smoky chicken satay and the apom balik, a sweet Malaysian style pancake dusted with nuts and sugar are irresistible.

MoonTree 47

If you're cruising for a coffee break, this lush, tropical bungalow is a perfect little oasis tucked away on Muntri Street. The Croque Madame is sure to please if you're feeling peckish.

Mews Cafe

This picturesque cafe is a great spot for a midday bite. The Mews Mee Jawa Noodle is bursting with flavor and is even better when finished off with a fresh Berry Crumble for desert.

Kebaya

Located in the Seven Terraces heritage hotel, the restaurant is well known for its modern twists on classic Peranankan cuisine and for its beautiful dining room setting. The Tamarind Beef is a must try.

Street Art Tour

Commissioned in 2012, the  "Mirrors George Town" art project features street murals that reflect what used to be every day life in this historic town (map here). Some of the most iconic pieces include "Kids on Bike" and "Old Motorcycle".

Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion

A museum and unique photo op rolled into one, this carefully restored family estate offers a peak at the more glamorous side of life in colonial Penang. Known for its bright blue walls, the mansion is now a heritage hotel with parts of the common area open for guided tours and viewings.

Ferringhi Beach / Batu Ferringhi

With its soft white sand and pale blue waters, its not hard to see why Batu Ferringhi is a local favorite. Although its a prime spot for a peaceful day of sunbathing, a variety of water sports like jet skiing and parasailing are also available.

This beautifully landscaped garden sits right off Batu Ferringhi and is home to more than 500 spices and plants. Its the perfect backdrop to an evening of leisurely exploring and even cooking classes if you'd like to see those spices in action. Make sure to spend a few extra minutes at the Big Swing to sway your troubles away.
